Workshop 1 : The Body As An Object
At some point, you stopped being in your body and started managing it from a distance.
You learned to evaluate yourself through other people's eyes. To monitor angles, adjust posture, suck in, smooth out. To ask how do I look before you ever asked how do I feel.
This is the performative feminine, a version of women that exists for observation rather than experience. A body that performs sensuality without ever actually feeling it, or denied it all together.
In this 2 hour workshop we will cover:
The body as object How you were trained to watch yourself from the outside instead of inhabiting yourself from within. The constant self-surveillance that pulls you out of sensation and into performance
The unworthy body The belief that sensuality belongs to other women, younger, thinner, women whose bodies match some invisible standard you never quite reach. The lie that you must earn the right to feel good in your skin.
The Sexualization of Sensuality: We were taught that feeling alive in our bodies was about sex. That enjoying touch, texture, movement, or our own skin was only acceptable if it led somewhere—if it served someone else's desire.
So sensuality became dangerous. Loaded. Something to control or perform rather than simply feel.
