Welcome to Aphrodite's Temple

Aphrodite is the ancient Greek Goddess of love and beauty; she is a living part of our own nature as women.

Unfortunately, with the fall of her temples came an era where beauty and pleasure lost their divine status and were demoted to the idea of being 'dangerous', 'frivolous', and something only worthy of 'exploitation'.

Today, this has manifested in the commoditization of sensuality and femininity which has, through inheritance and social conditioning, become what we believe sensuality to be for women.

The result?
Before we've even had the chance to embrace our own embodied experience of what it means to be in contact with our sensuality as women, these outdated ideals contorted our sensuality into vessels of objectification—either vilified and shamed or overly sexualized.

Through this, today we fear to be sensually embodied, turned on, and alive women who feel safe, alive, and free to inhabit our full somatic, sensual being.

Aphrodite's Temple Retreat is a reclamation from this fall.

In this 5 day retreat, we will enter a process of embodied ritual to reclaim our sensuality and beauty as women, no matter the stage of your life, and remember your own body as Aphrodite's temple.

The only way to destroy the organic, feminine power of our sensuality is to paint it as 'evil,' 'bad,' and 'dangerous.'

When a woman reclaims her sensuality, she becomes a force to be reckoned with. She cannot be easily manipulated or controlled by cheap trinkets and empty promises.

Capitalism and patriarchy don't want this for us. These systems and structures tell us that who we are is not enough. We all know this, but what do we actually do about it?

In this retreat, we invite you to celebrate your sensuality as a way to subvert the oppressive and disconnected stories we embody around sensuality.

This is a retreat of joy as much as it is of activism.

When we inhabit and reclaim our sensuality as women, we are embodying our sensuality as a form of activism. We are infusing love, beauty, connection, and wholeness back into the world and into nature by no longer objectifying and vilifying it but celebrating and owning it as our birthright.

Through out our 5 day retreat together you will not only dismantle limiting narratives around your sensuality, you will walk away with a felt, embodied recognition of how important it is to inhabit your sensuality as a women.

Sensuality is literally how we make 'sense' of 'reality', without our senses, reality as we know it would not exist.

Sensuality is our direct relationship with the world around us.

If we turn it down, or worse, turn it off, we create LESS safety, not more.

When we return to our sensual selves, we return to life.

Through fully embodying our sensuality, we affirm that we belong to life.

For the modern woman, this activates a sense of having a secret love affair with life itself, which is what we want for every women, at every stage of her life.

We are all born as sensual, eroticially innocent beings, and yet we have been conditioned to mistrust our senses, our body, and our connection with life.

Temple Practices

The ‘Temple’ is your body. There are different types of rituals, some of which beautify and enliven the body, some of which create more synergy and resonance within oneself and others, and some of which are designed to remind you of the sacred that can be found in the ‘ordinary’ moments of life. We will use movement, breath, sound, and the intentional cultivation of beauty, within and without, to access the sweetness of intimacy that we have with life itself.

Initiatory Ceremonies

Ceremonies are as old as humanity and crucial to mark different moments on our journey of life. We will be facilitating beautiful initiatory ceremonies to support the new frameworks of belief and behavior so that upon leaving the retreat, you are well equipped to bring your full embodiment back into your everyday life. To make something sacred, we simply must turn our full awareness toward it and imbue it will our heart and presence.

Sensual Embodiment practices

We will do practices and experiences designed to reawaken your senses, allowing you to break free of limiting beliefs and behaviors that constantly shut you down rather than open you up. Being open, however, requires a deep sense of our own centeredness which is an equally important part of becoming more sensually embodied. We will share solo, partnered and group practices that support erotic innocence to be activated as a trustworthy guide.

Sensual Embodied Engagement with Nature

Nature plays an intrinsic role in our relationship  to the sensuality. Through connection to the elements that surround us- water, earth & fire, we will immerse ourselves in the senuous experience of what nature has to offer us as a pathway to embodying our sensuality.

Teachings on Sexual Sovereignty

Sexual Sovereignty is your inborn right to inhabit and enjoy the profound experience of fully embodying our own body. Because so many of us have been taught lies about our bodies, sensuality, sexuality, Eros, desire and pleasure, it’s important to reclaim our full birthright as erotically awakened and thriving beings. We will explore different gentle practices designed to rebuild trust in our sexuality while also supporting our nervous system to start calibrating to higher levels of pleasure.

Somatic & Nervous System Practices

In order for us to feel safe to access our sensuality, we prioritize working with the nervous system, with an understanding that we all hold trauma in our bodies we aim to weave in somatic practices through out the retreat so we can feel safe to explore unknown territories within ourselves while not overwhelming our hearts, bodies & mind

Circle Work

Cirlce work is a powerful tool that allows people in the group field to be seen and felt in their experience. It is a way to integrate expereinces had in the retreat, be felt in an emotional charge, express something that feels edgy, speak what is alive and process any undigested material that may still be active from a practice or process in the retreat.

Shadow Work

In order for us to access our sensual & erotic truth we will explore some of the unconscious programs we tend to identify with as women around our sensuality shadows- the shadow is the hidden, repressed & denied aspect of self.  In this retreat we will explore the strategies we use to gain love and approval through the patriarchal lenses we have adopted and transform them into our most true, liberated & authentic sensual expression.

Therapeutic Erotic Dance

Erotic dance isn’t about being sexy for someone, it emphasizes an embodied approach to the art of feminine embodiment in it's most pure form. It invites you to engage deeply and somatically as your dance seduces yourself into a profound depth of presence & connection.

You'll learn to how to move from insecurity or seeking validation to your dance to becoming a conduit of the sensuous, alive, fecund & connected source of eros.
